Security Camera Software Keeps Camera Images On Track
When using a computer to monitor and control a security camera, software plays a big role in making sure the system runs properly. With the right security camera software the system can replay recently recorded images while still recording as well as allow the viewer to make video copies of the image and even print still pictures pulled from the video. Depending on the provider of security cameras, many also provide the software to make using the camera easy and more convenient for businesses as well as for homeowners.
Good security camera software can be a blessing if there are multiple cameras connected to the security system. Most software allows for the live viewing of one or several cameras at the same time while continually recording every image being seen by the cameras. It should also be possible to view images maintained on the computer’s internal or external hard drive while continuing to record the live action.
Look For Appropriate Playback Options
Unlike many videocassette recorders that are limited in the options for playing back the video, many pieces of security camera software also allow the image to be viewed in real time as well as in slow motion, stop-action and in frame-by-frame mode. They can also allow the image to be viewed in reverse, allowing users to isolate specific images at their leisure from the comfort of their computer chair.
The security camera software should also allow for burning a digital video disk for later, enabling images to be saved after the hard drive is filled with new images. In most cases, once the hard drive is filled it will begin recording over previously recorded images, rendering them lost forever, making it important to be able to save specific scenes.
Having Enough Space For Timeless Recording
Many digital video recorders used in the surveillance industry allows for continuous recording of up to 30 days, depending on the activity in the recorded scene. Some of the security camera software also allows certain cameras to be set up to record only when motion is detected within a specified area. Playback of these images can be isolated based on the ability of the security camera software to detect movement allowing the user to choose which scenes to review.
Additionally, most manufacturers of digital security products will offer security camera software that meets the needs of the individual user as well as the installed equipment. Always make sure the quality of the security camera software matches the quality of the other equipment to insure quality recordings and review.
